Mazunte and the “Weed”

 

These photos are from a beach a few steps from Mazunte called Mermejita. You could see whales from this hill “La Colina del Pescador”.

If you don’t care too much about smoking some “Weed”, come to Mazunte Oaxaca to forget all your troubles and your faults. Here to be happy the only thing you need is a few shoots of mezcal, a local brew almost as strong and tasty as tequila, but even better because next day you will not remember a thing.

Beautiful women and men from all over the world you will find them here. They call them “Hippies”, but I prefer to name them “Free thinkers”, as I am from time to time.

In Mazunte at the rhythm of reggae and some blues you will forget you are a simple employee in some hidden corner of the world, since here everyone is brother of the next one, and everybody will love you without asking for the color of your skin or if you are a big big shot out there.

Weed and beer will smooth your body and your soul and, in a few days, you will forget who you were and where you were heading to, and you will live day after day without worrying what the future will bring... But be careful’ cause weed and beer could leave you in the bones and your soul will be drifting like a hot balloon in Mazunte ’streets.

But, if you prefer the smooth side of life, in Mazunte you will find beautiful beaches, marvelous sunrises and spectacular sunsets at Punta Cometa, maybe the most beautiful ones of the entire world. I’m sure.

Mazunte has a “Menu” for each one of us all. If you love to drink, then drink, if you enjoy smoking weed, please feel free to do so, and if you want to think, to meditate, this is the best place; or if you enjoy writing stories or novels as I do, then Mazunte could be the perfect place for you.

All kinds of human beings you could find here, and none is rude, none is no polite, none says I am rich, I am intellectual, I am a big ass.

Before coming to Mazunte leave at home all your egos, all your status, all your diplomas and your degrees; and come to walk the streets on sandals or on bare feet wearing a shitty T-shirt and an old short; because here nobody wears a necktie or a suit.

In Mazunte beach if you want to go "topless" you could do so; but if you want to go less than top-less don’t do it here. There is a beach close by (a 10, 15-minute drive from Mazunte) called Zipol, or Zipolite, the famous beach of love, la Playa del Amor, where you could go naked and nobody will criticize if you are a big whale or a skinny bird.

If you want to re-define yourself, then come to Mazunte. The teaching, the Zen, the psychology sessions are all free.

Come to enjoy riding the waves of the sea or watching swimming free dolphins, turtles, whales... and, of course, smoking weed.
